Shona Forster

PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT OFFICER, DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY

Supporting Brain Health Research

Shona is currently working for the Oxford Brain Health Centre, part of the Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre. She is in the final year of a MSc in Nutritional Therapy. Her special interest is in how lifestyle modifications may prevent or delay cognitive decline.

Shona has recently worked with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust to engage people diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) in the progress being made in dementia research and how they might play a role. She is now part of a team interested in determining whether there is a need for post-diagnostic support for people with MCI and how that may be delivered, possibly through Social Prescribing.

Prior to this, Shona supported the Oxford site of the European Prevention of Alzheimer’s Dementia Consortium with recruitment, PPI activities and communication.
